Message from the Director

There are few opportunities in value-added agriculture that have generated as much interest as renewable energy. Whether it is energy from biofuels like ethanol and biodiesel, biomass such as crop residue and food processing coproducts or biogas from anaerobic digesters, individuals and industries alike are taking a long look at the potential of using agricultural products as energy sources.

The Center for Producer-Owned Energy is here to help make that happen in Minnesota. This Center will provide business and technical assistance to help develop innovative and producer-owned projects focused on renewable energy from ag products.

As a division of the Agricultural Utilization Research Institute, the Center will draw upon the substantial experience and expertise of AURI staff. The Center also has collaborative relations with numerous other organizations to provide the assistance needed to develop successful enterprises.

This site provides information about the services offered by the Center as well as links to other sources of information related to value-added agriculture. We hope you will take some time to look around the site.
